No nonsense Tights and Leggings... Affordable, Comfortable, and Cute!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of No nonsense for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey ladies! How are those legs looking and feeling after a long 2012? Mine look and feel so tired, sorta chubby, and so 41. Other than putting my feet up, losing a few lbs, and doing some toning exercises, what can a girl do to feel good about her legs? How about a pair of super cute fashion tights or leggings?
I had the pleasure of receiving No nonsense tights and leggings from No nonsense with the understanding that if I liked them, I'd tell you all! Guess what? I did like them... a lot in fact!

If only I had photos of myself in the tights and leggings to share... however all evidence suggests that this mom has been neglecting her body in some pretty major ways. Apparently I've had a little too much fun this holiday season and my waistline won't allow me to fit into any of my dress clothes. Blah! I'm wearing sweatshirts and long sleeved t-shirts until I shed the extra poundage. Fun times.

A Low Carb Online Market? Score!

It's New Year's Eve and thanks to a very hearty holiday season, I'm fat... again! lol I've been on every non-pill popping diet known to woman, including the Atkins diet followed by a variety of my own low carb dietary programs. My own little inventions if you will, based on my own theories about what does and doesn't work. One thing I've learned... reducing carbohydrates works!
I've vowed to lose 25 lbs in the healthiest way possible. Starting off with a lot of juicing of fruits and veggies, cutting out bread and pasta, with the exception of Miracle Noodlesand of course giving up the sugar... except on Fridays. lol  Believe it or not I've successfully lost weight having goodies ONLY on Fridays. I don't overdo it, but if I'm craving something sweet or fried, I just remind myself that Friday will get here and when it does, nothing will be off limits.

So, I know fruits can be high in carbs, but I like to jump start my diet with juicing because it makes me feel so much better. I can lose a few lbs relatively quickly that way, giving me the motivation to continue. When it comes to seeking out low carb foods, I'll probably check out the low carb grocery and see what they have. Love ordering online anyway and today we're getting snow, under a winter weather advisory and I have no desire to leave the comforts of home. At least not today!

All that said, I don't love the idea of New Year's Resolutions, so I'm not going to call my plans to shed 25 lbs a New Year's Resolution, but I will say that it's a very real goal that I'd like to achieve before the end of the school year. It would be nice if I could start running come late May... without crying that is.

Great Success with Critical Thinking Strategies

          Guest post

I'm an elementary teacher in the Midwest. Its a smaller town, mostly rural, so our schools aren't well funded. My training didn't prepare me for all of the real challenges I would face in the classroom. I was especially frustrated with the teacher's manuals and guides I was given to use and teach from. Technically, they all cover the material, but they don't explain what to do when a student hits a serious roadblock in comprehension. After I found out other teachers were lacking the same tools in several subjects, I started to look for a solution. The best solution I found was at Mentoring Minds. I researched the books and tools, like the critical thinking wheel, which I wanted to see in classrooms and brought the school board. They were hesitant at first, but they were willing to try it in a few special classes which were lagging behind the others. What happened next was amazing. The teachers who used the materials found not only ways to answer the student's difficult questions, but great new ways to teach critical thinking strategies. This was perhaps the most amazing part. Critical thinking is the most important skill taught to children today, as it empowers them to find answers on their own in the future, a lifelong skill. Much of the facts and details we try to teach students aren't very valuable if the student is unable to think in a critical way. I highly recommend any of the products offered, especially the Critical Thinking Strategies Guide.
