Going to School for Business Administration

Whether you're entering college straight out of high school or going back to school after many years, you may not be exactly sure what path your career will take when you finish. If you're called to teaching, nursing, or social work, you may find that those highly-specific degree programs are right for you. However, if you are more interested in obtaining a degree that can be applied to a variety of jobs in a variety of industries, a business administration degree may be right for you.

Some have enjoyed moving around to work in different departments of the same corporation, while others started out as mid-level managers and worked their way up to higher offices. Still others launched their own companies, putting their business operations and management education to work as entrepreneurs in retail, restaurants, inventions, and other ventures.

If you aren't sure where you want to end up at the end of your program but you know you want flexible (and plentiful) career options, business admin may be the way to go. Companies are always hiring professionals who are trained in operations and management, so you will have your pick of where to live and what industry to work in. Better yet, you will have the flexibility to move from one line of work to another. Think of this program as an education that will keep your career from ever getting stale!
