Homeschooling Giveaway... Even if You're not a Homeschooler!

You're officially invited to participate in my very first product giveaway! You don't even have to be a homeschooler to participate... so don't navigate away from this post without checking things out. Occasionally our giveaways may cater directly to the homeschooler, but this particular prize is one I think any parent with age-appropriate children will appreciate. With that said, this blog offers information that can be useful to parents whether they homeschool or not, so I hope you'll do a little snooping while you're here. ; )

Prize:
How Math Works: 100 Ways Parents and Kids Can Share the Wonders of Mathematics
by Carol Vorderman

Details: Hardcover book purchased specifically for this giveaway
Age Appropriateness: 8-14
Pages: 192
Prize value: $24.00

About the book:
This book is really perfect for homeschooling families as the format is designed for parents and children working together as they explore math through 100 projects and activities conducted from home. I confess to have purchased two... one for me, one for the winner of this giveaway!
So how do you enter?
You can receive up to 5 entries in total... here's how:
  • 1 entry: Please leave a comment on this post and share why you'd like to win. Be sure your comment either links to your own blog (where I can find your email address) or that you leave your email address within the context of your comment. When leaving your email in a comment, please use this method: youraddress(at)yahoo(dot)com so the bots can't find you and send you loads of hideous spam.

  • 1 entry: Subscribe to this blog. Once you've subscribed to The Homeschooling Blog, please shoot me an email (type "homeschool giveaway" in the subject field) or let me know you've subscribed in your comment below (so I'll know). If you're already a subscriber, bless your little heart~ just let me know and I'll give you the credit. ; )

  • 3 entries: Write about this competition on your own blog and link to this site. Please share in your blog post three reasons why you'd like to win this giveaway and invite others to enter. Be sure to let me know you've posted about this competition or I'll never know to give you credit for it! ;) Once again, be sure to type "homeschool giveaway" in the subject field of your email so I'll not overlook it.
Rules (there are just a couple):

  • You must live in the Continental United States in order to enter this contest. My budget at this time isn't such that I can ship overseas. Sorry about that!

  • I must have your permission to disclose your first name/last initial and if you have a blog or website... that too in my winning announcement. Otherwise, I'll lose a lot of credibility! Please let me share your good fortune with the blogosphere! If you don't have a site I can link too, I'll need to share a city/state type of thing too.

  • If you personally know me, you're not eligible to enter. Sorry! Once again, it's a credibility issue. Just can't take the chance of a neighbor or cousin winning... makes sense right?
The drawing will be held on April 13th, 2008 (cut off is 4-13-8 at 12:00 pm CDT) ... my son's 7th birthday and in fact, he'll be drawing the name from the bag... most likely from a pillow case! lol It will likely be the 14th before the winner is announced here, since we'll be in the midst of partying all day and the aftermath that follows. ; )

Good luck to all & thanks for visiting The Homeschooling Blog!
~Wendy

I wanted to just say I am loving your blog! Definitely one I've been to a time or two and plan to visit much more often.

Do not count me towards the contest as I'm sure the others would make better recipients towards the prize though. I am lucky in the aspect that both my boys do exceptionally well in math!

I am a homeschooling Mom (four kids) and that looks like a wonderful book! I will put it on my "book list" and hope to win it before I buy it!

Hello, I am not a homeschooler, but I do assist my sons with a lot of the school work. I am very active when they have projects and special reports. I love learning. I have a niece who has some trouble in school. She is nine and lives in another state. I would love to win this book for her. Please enter me in your drawing. Many thanks, Cindi
