Free Homeschooling Student & Teacher ID's

The key word here is free... am I right? lol

I found this link through Wahm.com's homeschooling message board. Another homeschooling mom was kind enough to share a very cool find, through the Homeschool Buyers Co-op.

I don't know much of anything about how the co-op works just yet, I'm still doing a bit of my own research in that area, but there's no membership required to create and print your very own student and teacher ID's.

Why would you need one? Who knows, but I kind of like the idea of having something to show people, just to appease anyone who asks, that yes... my kids are in school. While there's nothing proving the card is valid, they don't know that. So, why not have it?

Additionally, if you're a teacher... and yes, we are teachers... you can use the identification card to potentially get teacher discounts at teaching supply stores, bookstores, and probably copy centers. It never hurts to ask! If they don't accept the card, you've not lost anything.

The information the site requests basically consists of grade level and date of birth, along with the name of student, teacher, and school. You'll then be asked to upload a photo of your child. You'll then supply your email address and the card will be sent to you via email in pdf form, which you'll then print at home and take to Kinkos to laminate, or you can find those self laminating sheets at Wal-Mart... which is probably what I'll do.

By the way, this blog is new and I have no idea if anyone is reading it, so if you're new and enjoying my posts, please make a comment! I'd love to hear from someone!
