Brick and Mortar School Week 1

Well my kids have been in the public school system now for 1 full week. Today was actually day 6 and with the exception of one bad day last week, I'm thrilled to report my son is exceptionally happy. I wanted to update everyone from time to time since I have been asking you all to pray for us! As a thank you, I at least owe you this much! lol

When I picked him up from school today and asked him how the day went, his exact words were... "Actually, it was awesome!", so you know I was feeling good! Between my new found freedom from what was becoming an overwhelming job as full time mom and teacher to a highly emotional (sometimes combative) Aspie and my son's new found happiness, I can honestly say I feel amazing! It feels so wonderful to know you've done the right thing, for the right reasons and be able to look at a decision without regret. It was a huge decision too... so that makes the joy I feel today all the more profound.

Please do keep praying for us. We are planning on homeschooling again one day, once my son is more mature and I know how to manage his needs better. I think there will be a season for both homeschooling and public schooling in our future... so at the very least, life will stay interesting!
