3 Weeks Vacation & My Kids are Soft!

We just returned a couple days ago from a 15 day trip to Disney World, Universal, and Sea World. By the way, just in case you're wondering... that's waaaay to long to vacation at theme parks. The lines (people), the food, and the laundry situation... eeek! Oh the laundry... I'm not one for roughing it and when you travel for that long with children, there's not much way around it. We each had a couple pairs of jeans and a pair of shorts along with enough shirts to wear two days each, and clean undergarments for every day we were gone (at least there was that!). Uh, yes we could have done laundry on the trip at the hotel, but my husband said no. I could have argued with him, but when you're married you have to pick your battles. Didn't seem worth it to me, plus he was willing to buy new clothes as we needed them, so what can I say?

We expected Florida to provide a sunny escape from the Midwestern chill that was making it's way to our city, but found an expected surprise... Florida was cold! Well, their lows were the highs we'd left behind, so I can't complain too terribly much, but there wasn't a lot of swimming that took place and we actually had to buy jackets! lol Who would have guessed?

So how did this vacation effect our semester? Well... Between Florida and a women's event I directed prior to leaving we've only homeschooled 3 days this month. So, today... the day after Thanksgiving, guess what we're doing? Math! My kids aren't happy and I can't say that I am either. My reason for being dissatisfied is not their reason. They'd rather be playing, but I'm just shocked at how soft they've become in just 3 weeks time. Either that or they're still tired. Maybe?? We'll be doing a handful of assignments tomorrow too... just to make up for lost time.

I have more posts coming and will include a few shots of our vacation along with updates on my son's situation. We have an appointment with the public school down the street on December 17th, so be praying about that. I am nearly 100% sure I'll be sending him there for a year or two, beginning in January so that he can get the therapy he needs. Btw, if he goes, my daughter will go too. She's been asking to go to school for over a year now. So, she's thrilled that this is likely the road we're taking. Silly girl! lol Well, then again when I was her age I loved school too.

Hi, Wendy! Welcome back! :) It's good "seeing" you again!
Wow, whata trip! Bet it was lots of fun and I look forward to the stories and pics! :)
I know how easily they get 'soft.' But, so long as they get back in, one way or other, it's alll good! :)
I will keep praying for you guys!
Take care!
