Attempts to Increase Page Load Time

You may start to notice a few subtle changes on The Homeschooling Blog. I'm trying to bring about a cleaner looking page (that loads faster). For starters, I have increased the "read more" feature, giving the reader just a glimpse of each article featured on the home page.

I've been told by other trusted bloggers that I have too many pictures on this site, which adds to a slow load. That's the last thing I want to do! I know your time is precious.
Hopefully, the partial posts and less "stuff" in my sidebars will help! I have to say, I love pictures, so cutting back will be hard, but I'll do what I have to do to improve this site.

Finally, I am toying with the idea of transferring The Homeschooling Blog to WordPress. Such a move is just a bit outside my comfort zone, so we'll see. If I do transfer, I'll probably wait until early summer to do so. I simply don't have the funds to make the leap just yet and even if I did, I'd have to weigh the benefit of such a move against the expense. I'd want to hire someone to insure a smooth transition and would need a new template too!

In the meantime, let me know what you think of this blog... how it reads, what works and what doesn't.

Wendy is the blessed mom to a 10 year old son with Asperger's Syndrome, a beautiful 9 year old daughter, & 6 children (miscarried) in heaven. She's temporarily given up homeschooling to give her son the peer modeling he was missing at home, essential for proper development in a child with autism. Currently she works full-time with special needs children as a para-educator.

Thank you for following The Homeschooling Blog!
