Computer Woes and Summer Bliss
Agh! It's been a crazy couple of weeks. My biggest frustration to report is that my ANCIENT of days laptop (can you believe 10 years old?) hasn't been working all that swiftly and I've had a few Internet-free days. Despite multiple virus scans, clearing my history and cookies, and a lot of prayer, this computer hasn't wanted to work. I'm now thinking I'll have to find a way to raise $500 for a new laptop buying fund! If you find me selling anything here in the next few days... um, that will likely be why. Pathetic or clever?
Anyhoo... Anyone who knows me, knows that Wendy NEEDS her Internet... much like Summer needs rain. Like rabbits need clover. Like kids need milk. Oh, the pain! I haven't been able to access my favorite sites, update my Facebook page, register my children for local events, access emails, manage my work from home ventures.... and worse of all, I've not been able to pay bills online. What did people do before Internet again? I can't even remember.
I've been ever so grateful to live within just a few miles of 2 public libraries, where I've managed to let friends know that no... Wendy didn't die. She's still alive and kicking, mostly kicking her laptop. I'm seriously ready to dig a hole in the backyard.
On a brighter note, our Summer break of sorts, officially started this afternoon! The kids will be attending a 5 week Summer course starting in June (just 10 hours a week) where they'll be taking math, computer, and art classes. They're actually looking forward to it... as of today. My son took some time before he was on board, but today I was delighted to hear him say, "Mom, I'm actually looking forward to Summer School." So, there ya go. My computer doesn't want to work, but at least the kids and my mommy ears are happy.
Ok.... so if you don't hear from me much over the next few days, it's likely because I couldn't get to the library. Or... it could be that I'm out pricing laptops and planning out to fit that expense into my ever tightening budget.

I'm so sorry about your computer woes. But, you made me LOL because I feel exactly like you do. I am LOST without my Internet or my laptop! I've only had the laptop for about 9 months, but I seriously don't know what I'd do without it. We've only had cable Internet for a couple of months, but I seriously don't know what I'd do without it. ;oP
Cara, Well at least if I've made someone chuckle, it's not all for nothing! lol
I'm at the library at the moment wishing I weren't at the library at the moment, but rather on my own computer. Not sure WHEN that will happen, but trusting it will.
Thanks for stopping by!
