Learning to Lapbook
I don't know where I've been all this time, but I'm only just learning about lapbooking. I absolutely love the idea... seems like the perfect opportunity to get children engaged in learning and in sharing what they've learned with others.
If you don't know what a lapbook is, don't fret! It's sort of like scrapbooking, but it's done with manila file folders rather than fancy scrapbooks. You add photos, drawings, diagrams, mini books, charts, graphs, or whatever seems appropriate to explain or describe a "thing", lol... for example, on the site I'm studying now, they made a lapbook on units of measure, covering everything from money, to days of the week.
I'll be sharing more about this topic in the coming weeks, and upon creating our own lapbooks, will share photos with you here.
In the meantime, I'll share my main resource for learning to lapbook... which is MyHomeschoolPlace.com. There are even photos for those of you who are like me and need a visual.
