February Holidays, From Traditional to Borderline Ridiculous
Spice up your homeschool by incorporating a few of these fun celebrations into the month of February. Some of these holidays are borderline ridiculous, but that's what makes them so much fun! Select a handful of days to work a lesser known holiday into your lesson plans to keep the curriuculum fun and interesting. Perhaps learn how a vacuum works on the 4th, eat tortilla chips on the 24th, and love on a grouch on the 16th! Use your imagination and have fun. :)
February 1 -Serpent Day
February 2 -Groundhog Day (not so unusual, but great fun to celebrate!)
February 4 -Create a Vacuum Day
February 5 -Disaster Day (maybe make this a day to learn about natural disasters... not a fun topic, but will build appreciation for our own life situations and a wonderful way to teach helping others in need)
February 6 -Ronald Reagan's Birthday (1911), Wear Red Day
February 7 -Charles Dickens Day, Laura Ingall Wilder's Birthday (1867)
February 8 -Kite flying day
February 10 -Umbrella Day (hmm, maybe if it rains?)
